More Than Milestones
is a parent and baby educational play program at LEEP Forward
, in partnership with Stages Performing Arts
and the parent community at Imagination Children's Academy
. This is a monthly parent and baby educational play group for newborns to early walkers. A guest specialist will be joining the group monthly focusing on different topics relevant to parents and baby's lives from newborns to early walkers. Speaker topics includes a sleep consultant, early language, sensory play for babies, nutrition in the first year of life & lactation consultant, motor milestones and parent+child connection through play. The educational elements are paired with playtime for parent and baby, music from Stages, and a meet and greet coffee and community time.
The therapeutic team at LEEP forward has worked closely with Emily Pinas at Stages Performing Arts
in discussing how they could build a program that supports early development and education while creating a sense of community for the families. They have many parents today reaching out to their specialists around many of these topics, and wanted to create a space where their team could share this knowledge from different sleep techniques to sensory play & motor milestones development, while also giving an opportunities for parents to gather together and create their own community.
Imagination Children's Academy,
was a good partner for both Stages and LEEP, as they both share space with in them, and work closely with their programming team in creating new ideas and programming for families in this community. Everyone on the team has a passion in different areas with a focus on supporting babies and parents to thrive during the exciting and always changing first year of life.
The first More than Milestones
