Mapping Property Crime In The West Loop

With reports of looting around Chicago, including the West Loop, local community organizations are being asked to collect and report data on non-life threatening incidents of vandalism, looting, and other damage to public and private property.

Visit westloop.org/propertycrime to view mapped reports of incidents. This map is new and will be updated as we receive information. The West Loop is defined by Ashland Avenue to the west, the I-290 Expressway to the south, the Chicago River to the east, and Grand Avenue to the north.

If a crime is progress, report it to 911. Then, email info@westloop.org with the incident location, what happened, and what kinds of repairs will be needed. If you have documentation, like pictures of videos, please attach them with any other relevant information.

We’ll collect your data and forward it to the Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection (BACP), which is coordinating response efforts to crimes like these.

Please only venture outside when it is safe to do so, and stay aware of your surroundings at all times.

Be Well & Stay Safe,
The West Loop Community Organization
