An Interview with Jennifer Guimond Quigley
Owner and managing Attorney

Jennifer Guimond-Quigley will be co-presenting a Lunch and Learn on Thursday, January 24th, where she will focus on the importance of funding and planning for your future. Topics will include common estate planning tools, the importance of life insurance outside of work policies, and succession planning for business owners.

Jennifer is the owner and managing attorney at the Law Office of Jennifer Guimond-Quigley. Jennifer was named a Super Lawyer and Rising Star by Super Lawyers Magazine three years in a row in the areas of Family Law and Estate Planning and was also a recipient of the Top 10 Under 40 Award from the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys in 2017. Jennifer resides in Chicago with her husband and children. When she’s not practicing law, she enjoys spending time with family, cooking and donating her time to various charitable organizations.

Can you tell us a little bit about your organization? What do you do?
At GQ Law, we work for families. From divorce litigation to estate planning, our services ensure that each client we serve is set up for success during major life changes. We reunite families, help plan for the future and offer legal assistance when clients need us the most.

What was your inspiration for beginning this business?
I wanted to create an environment for practicing law that was very client-centered and less focused on hourly billing and numbers.  I began my firm with that premise in mind and ten years later, it is still our number one priority.  My clients receive a lot of attention from me throughout their entire case, rather than being passed along to other staff and forgotten about.  It makes for a better experience for the client as they feel they and their matter are high priority, which they are.

What are the services you offer?
We offer services for divorce, legal separation, custody, child support, maintenance, parentage, adoption, cohabitation, same-sex matters, pre and post-nuptial agreements, post-decree matters and orders of protection. We also offer a wide array of estate planning and estate administration services.

Why did you decide to join the West Loop Community Organization?
I joined the West Loop Community Organization after another business member recommended it to me.  It has been a great way to network and get news on happenings and events in the West Loop.

What do you like about being in the West Loop?
There’s so much happening in the West Loop lately, but if I had to choose one thing, it would be the amazing restaurants!

How do you contribute to the mantra, “Made Better” here in the West Loop?
We try and go above and beyond for our clients with the goal that they all walk away feeling like they received exceptional legal services at a reasonable rate.

What is the next thing for your business?
We have been working on some great online resources through our website (www.gqlawoffice.com/blog) that we are hoping will be of assistance to potential clients or others interested in learning more about divorce and estate planning.

Is there any other information you would like to share with us?
The team at the Law Office of Jennifer Guimond-Quigley is dedicated to using our time and legal expertise to make the world a better place. GQ law sponsors and supports a number of organizations and causes. Some of the organizations we are passionate about include Wills for Heroes, Chicago Volunteer Legal Services, and Cradles to Crayons.
