The Lake Street Green Line tracks are the original “L” tracks ever laid. They were built in 1892, before Chicago had three of its four stars. As the West Loop continues to grow, infrastructure upgrades along this stretch of track are needed to ensure the safety and efficiency of public rail service. The Morgan Station already receives over 900,000 annual riders. We hope you understand the need for the temporary closure and the benefits it will help bring to the service.
