West Loop Art Fest 2015

We, West Loop Community Organization (WLCO)Amdur Productions and Star Events are thrilled to bring a brand new art, music and food festival to the West Loop. The inaugural West Loop Art Fest will be located along Washington Boulevard between Aberdeen and Halsted Streets on Saturday, August 22nd from 10am-10pm and Sunday, August 23rd from 10am-9pm. Art will be available for purchase until 7pm on both evenings, with music and food sales continuing through the close of each evening. This family-friendly summer festival will be enjoyable for all ages!
The West Loop Art Fest will showcase the artwork of over 150 juried artists from across the country in a variety of mediums, including paintings, glass, ceramics, photography and jewelry as well as Russ Riendeau's interactive sculpture, "Everest Easel." In addition to the artwork available for purchase, attendees of all ages will be able to create artwork in some of our interactive art tents under guidance of local artist Bryan ButlerBennett Day SchoolWhitney Young High SchoolSteve & Kate's CampCat & Mouse Games and LEEP ForwardPOW! MMA & Fitness will be providing a series of FREE "mini classes" throughout the weekend. Body painting provided by LEX Body Art.
Two music stages will anchor the festival on the east and west ends of Washington Blvd. Attendee's can expect to see live performances from more than 30 musicians as well as local dance studios, featuring a special performance by Fivestarboogie Dancers. Saturday's headliners include 16 Candles on the east stage and Jesse De La Peña on the west stage, while Sunday's headliners include Tripping Billies on the east stage and Mark Grant on the west stage. Neighboring restaurants, such as Publican Quality MeatsMas, Bar Che, Parlor Pizza, Nicholas Quality Meats and Chicken Shop will be serving up summer favorites.

There is a suggested donation of $10 benefiting the West Loop Community Organization, where residents and business owners have an active voice in decisions affecting the neighborhood's development, parks, schools, traffic, safety and more.
