The West Loop Community Organization (WLCO) is seeking outgoing and friendly Gate Ambassadors to solicit donations and greet guests at the Taste of Randolph Street, West Loop’s largest street festival and WLCO’s flagship fundraising event. This year’s Taste of Randolph Street takes place over Father's Day weekend, Friday-Sunday, June 14-16, on Randolph Street from Racine (W) to Peoria (E) Streets. The main entrance is located at 900 West Randolph Street. The gates open at 12:00PM and close at 10:00PM.
Gate Ambassadors are the first point of contact for festival attendees, and we’re aiming to make that first impression as warm and inviting as possible. Entrance to the festival is a suggested $10 donation, which directly improves WLCO’s ability to support local economic development, coordinate public planning, and cultivate community programs like the Taste of Randolph Street. We’re looking for personable staff who can communicate that message while managing a positive entry experience for everyone.
Compensation is $20 per hour as an independent contractor. There are two shifts available across each of the three days: a six-hour day shift from 11:00AM-5:00PM with one thirty-minute break, and a five-hour night shift from 5:00PM-10:00PM. Training is available the week of June 10. We pay day of, in cash, and on site.
Interested candidates can fill out the below fields or email email@example.com to be considered for hire. Gate Ambassadors must be 21+ and are prohibited from drinking during shifts and while in uniform. Eligible candidates must also submit one form of government-issued identification before May 28.
Commemorating the iconic street festival’s twenty-third anniversary, StarEvents and WLCO will bring together the biggest and brightest names in Chicago dining, featuring over 16 unique restaurants. Silver Wrapper curates a list of the nation’s hottest up-and-coming bands and musicians, as well as the biggest names in Chicago house music, performing on two huge stages and a third DJ stage to entertain guests on their culinary adventures.
